After volunteering at a high kill animal shelter in Florida for several years, this is one issue that is near and dear to my heart. I have first hand knowledge that a majority of animals who landed in our shelter were the direct result of an unaltered animal being allowed to roam loose and breeding with another unaltered animal, and guess what? Puppies and kittens galore! Did you know that an intact male dog will travel away from his home for a mile or more seeking a ready and willing female to breed with.
