Greetings
Until September last year I was harnessed to a job that I knew in side out. It was good money, and it was killing me. Once I had made the decision to leave , things started falling into place. Instead of resigning , I was offered a redundancy. Gotta love that right sizing!
At the same time tumors were discovered on my ovaries and I needed urgent surgery. I finished my job on the Tuesday, Oncologist on the Wednesday, blood tests on the Thursday and six hours of surgery on the Friday.
I have had people comment on the terrible timing. The truth is , it all worked out perfectly. I was paid up so money wasn't an issue, I did not have to go to work so I could focus totally on my recovery and I had time to myself. This time allowed me to set a couple of 'me' goals for 2008. Writing is one of those goals , and so here I am.
This is going to be the 'year of no fear', I am going to tackle those things I always wanted to do.
I look forward to learning lots, making new friends and growing as a person.
Gym memberships are like bridesmaids dresses, you wear them once and then you stuff them to the back of the closet. Something happens to you mentally, you feel like you have already achieved your goal by purchasing the membership. You go once or twice, and then you cancel one class, and then you start making excuses why you don't have time to go. The problem is we are excuse rich and time poor. We need to build exercise into our daily regimes so it becomes the usual. Not something that we do when we become panic stricken because our suit pants were hard to do up this morning.
