I worked (too) hard for 26 years teaching college freshmen to write term papers and themes and to interpret literature and appreciate drama as literature. Whew! I've also written ads and news for radio. Thank God, that's behind me, and now, partially retired, I can enjoy life-translate as "travel, theater, cooking, gardening, shopping, and fixing up the house the way I want it."
Friends consider me an expert on budget travel. I laugh at those "experts" who advise us to "do Europe on $70/day." I would have spent less than that my entire six days in Belgium if I hadn't bought all those chocolates! A history buff, I spend the most on entrance fees and tours.
I'd love to be a speech writer for some of the current political candidates. Doesn't everyone want to put words in their mouths?
