I remember playing the first Doom, lights out and sound turned up, on my computer in my room when I was in high school. There was something frightening and exciting about putting yourself in the shoes of a marine fighting against zombies and demons from Hell. It was an instant classic and fanboys everywhere scrambled to buy the sequels.
