Mark spent 8 years in the military as an intelligence analyst from August of 2000 until April of 2008 specializing in the Middle East. Mark has a passion for writing and traveling, though he doesn't do as much of either as he would like. Since April Mark drove over 11,000 miles across the United States seeing and learning as much as possible. Mark also drove across much of Europe when he was stationed in Germany in 2004-2005. Mark has been to Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Luxemburg, Belgium, Austria, Italy, and Israel and wants to continue to explore new places and cultures.

was to join the military and serve my country, which I did for eight years.
The first thing to know about hiking in the Grand Canyon is that there is no easy trail. In order to complete the entire length of the majority of the trails requires at least one overnight stay in the base of the canyon. It is important to note that the temperature goes up several degrees each 1,000 feet you descend into the canyon, sometimes as much as twenty or more degrees difference between the rim and the floor.
