First words: Plan ahead. In my case, I am father to both a 12-year-old daughter and a son nearing the age of sixteen. There are concepts that I wanted to discuss with them both at once, as a family... But there were some areas that I knew would not be appropriate - not to mention being horribly uncomfortable for me - to discuss any other way than one-on-one.
