About me - Jayne Oliver

About me

I live in the North-East of England, and I am currently, involved in co-writing a script, for a short production, to be performed at a local castle, in the Spring.

I recently graduated, as a professional actress, and had the privilege of working with the Royal Shakespeare Company, during my actor training. I am presently, trying to get my first professional job.

I have also worked as a professional Script Reader, for a London Film and Television production company.

I love going to the cinema and the theatre, and doing what I want to do, and not following a realistic path, in life. I'm not a slave to money. Time is more precious to me, and I like to remain true to myself, in the belief that my creative dreams, will one day become a reality, while I'm still young enough to enjoy it.

I would describe myself, as an eccentric, creative, dreamer, who never gives up, and takes pride in that fact.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

Writing plays, acting and my posters, still, on my bedroom wall of my hero!

I know too much about ...

doors slamming in my face and opportunites that expect me to work for no payment, in return.

My parents always told me ...

Never to talk to strangers!

My childhood ambition ...

To be famous! Still is! But I used to say, that I want to be either, an artist, an author or an actor, and I'm actually all three at once!

My favorite memory ...

My hero calling me on my mobile phone, in the middle of Plymouth high street, when I went to see him in a play, inviting me backstage for a chat, and he took me on the stage.

Why I write ...

Because I need to, and it's a perfect escape.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Helium, since I discovered it! But I like watching films. Not really a reader. I like listening to music from the musicals and love ballads, and to give my age away, music from the 1980's era.

My first job ...

Sales Assistant.

My best moment ...

I don't think it has happened yet. But it was nice, a few years back, to get a call from a script reader, from an English Film production company, saying he liked my script that I had sent, and that he thought I was a good writer!

My inspiration ...

My hero! I know, very corney!

Parenting & Pregnancy > Parenting (Other) Should adult children adopt an attitude of gratitude toward their parents?

In general, given that adult children have had a normal, happy childhood, safe in the knowledge that their parents have done everything to the best of their personal abilities, to raise them without being damaged or neglected, then, yes, undoubtedly, they owe a natural gratitude to their parents, for the fundamental reason that their parents gave them life and nurtured them to adulthood. Gratitude for ones parents, should be an unspoken, unconditional attitude, like love, it is innate, and by nature, should not be challenged, unless a person has suffered at the hands of their parents, and ...
