I am living in Dallas, TX. as I work towards completing my Masters. My wife Amy and I were married August 2005 and life has been blessed and crazy ever since! We had twins, Lilly and Zach in 2007 and then were surprised with our littlest one, Story Bella, July 2008.
Our dream is to move to the New York City area in the Spring of 2011 and establish a missional community there. WE are taking strategic steps now to keep that dream alive.
Writing is in my blood. I wrote my first autobiography when I was 8 and look forward to publishing even greater works. It is the way I best express myself. I decided to major in Communications in my undergraduate studies to counteract the shyness I have had my whole life. Writing is the way I talk clearly.
My favorite authors so far are G.K. Chesterton, Donald Miller, Philip Yancey, and anyone who helps me to continue to dislodge myself from a religious way of thinking. I constantly battle against a narrowly conservatibe view of things and myself in order to question everything.
I love God more than anything and hope to be a good example to those who read my material.
My passion is ...
My wife and children, writing, conversations about God, teaching form the Scriptures, reading, helping people, coffee, nature
I know too much about ...
Baby butt-cream
My parents always told me ...
I was my own worst enemy
My childhood ambition ...
To be a ninja or a spy or a photographer
My favorite memory ...
The first night I held my wife's hand (before we were married). I felt like I was floating, and had entered a fair-tale.
Why I write ...
Because it brings clarity to my soul. It makes me feel at peace with myself and with everything around me.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I just read "Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl" and listened to "Night" by Elie Wiesel on audio. Both were astounding.
My first job ...
Working at a grocery store, sacking groceries.
My best moment ...
The moment I saw my wife turn and come down the aisle the day we were married
My inspiration ...
My wife's love for me, my children's thirst for life, the charming life God has given me.
The sad reality about working in an office setting is that ultimately no one is "on your team". Believing the myth that you have a team and people are going to always be loyal to you will create disappointment. The best way to save yourself from alot of anger, interpersonal conflict, or worse - being suddenly unemployed - is to know this information and live in it. Don't let the office become a place where you get your feeling of importance. No one, especially the people who work closest to your desk, think you are indispensable. If it is necessary, they will congregate and discuss why you...
