I am the Sub-Steward for the Vets & Pet Health channel under Pets & Animals, but I do not just write articles based on animal health, I am also a keen creative writer. My first poem was published when I was 14 in a book of collective works from around the East Midlands, UK. I have a portfolio of poems, songs and parodies that I am currently building up. My first romance/crime novel is finished and under editing. I would like to get it published by the end of this year, but being pregnant and the mother of a young baby I do not have a lot of spare time on my hands!

Being of a Wiccan religion, I have a high interest in magic and mythology and would like to write my next book based within this genre.

Before settling down with my husband and starting our family in the South West of the UK, I worked as a Veterinary Nurse (unqualified). I used my spare time to put myself through college and gained a UK BTEC National Award (Merit) in Horse Management (Equine Business Management) and a UK Open University certificate in Starting Writing Fiction. I can also speak French and have a basic knowledge of German, Arabic, Italian, Spanish and Mexican-Spanish. I am constantly learning new skills, at the moment I am teaching myself sign language. Once I have mastered this I intend to brush up on the languages I already speak and learn new ones. I would love to be able to add speaking Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Latin to my abilities.

I have traveled to a variety of countries and love discovering new cultures. I was born in Oman, and have lived in Oman, Scotland, Channel Islands and England but have visited Mexico, Dubai, France, Spain, Netherlands and Wales. Once my children are older I would like to take them to the Middle East to show them where my husband and I grew up before the first Gulf War. I would also like to visit India, Nepal, Australia, North America, Canada, Russia and Cyprus in the future.

I write for Helium, not just to earn money, but for the experience. I enjoy receiving emails of praise and suggestive criticism from readers and other writers, always looking on ways to improve myself. Writing is an important part of who I am and without Helium I would be a completely unknown writer, rather than a relatively unknown one. I am hoping that by adding my articles to this web-site I will gain the recognition that I require to become a better person.

With the credit crunch in England, UK, we have watched as the prices of fuel and food has risen, affecting more or less everyone in the community. The supermarkets are competing for our cash in various ways; offering money-off vouchers for loyalty being the most popular. Loyalty cards are given to customers who gather points with every shop then at the end of the month coupons are sent out with offers of money off and extra points. Some stores have also begun to offer lower fuel prices for regular buyers, handing out a free litre of fuel' vouchers for every 50 that you spend on food.
