I am British through and through, I was born in a city called Birmingham (England's so-called 'second city) and grew up there. As far as I know all my ancestors were English as far back as I can trace them. I moved to Solihull, which is a reasonably small town, just outside Birmingham when I got married.
My childhood was spent reading and writing. I had a vast collection of books, so many in fact that my Father built not one but two good sized cupboards in my bedroom to keep them all in. I lived in a world of Enid Blyton, thinking I could be one of the Famous Five or the Secret Seven and often wrote my own stories (in which I was the heroine of course).
Marriage and babies curtailed my literary efforts for a good many years, but now that my babies have babies of their own, I am once again drawn to reading and writing.
I always have a novel in my head, and have started several of them, but never finished them, and write amusing little poems to put into the personalised birthday cards that I make on my computer.
I work full time as a receptionist/telephonist and have a passion for theatre - especially musicals. I'm not a bad singer myself and have won a few competitions and appeared in shows for many years now.
My ambition is to one day write a novel that will out-sell Harry Potter ! (Oh well, a gal can dream).

I have to admit that the tutor I had scared the life out of me and I was always terrified to ask for explanations about things I did not understand and I definitely did not understand Shakespeare. After a few weeks of reading the book, she asked us all to tell her which character we li...
