First off, I would like to mention that my family has had a sonogram blooper as well. My brother was brought home to a pink room, dresses, and bonnets. Everyone was rather shocked to see that "she" was in fact a "he". However, I believe with the right type of sonogram, and the right timing of the checkup, yes. Now, if you are trying to determine the gender of the baby when it is underdeveloped (anywhere under 13 weeks), then obviously it would pose for problems.
