About me

Hi! I don't really know what to put in this bit, if there's one thing I'm not very good at writing about it's myself! Damn, all those requests for autobiographies will just have to go in the bin.
Ok, basically I'm seventeen, I live in the North East of England and at the moment I'm in sixth form. My favourite subject is (surprise surprise) English Language, I really love it.
I love writing, but I'm not very confident with it, which is why I like helium, I can publish articles and see what people think about them without having to show them to people I actually know! They're always the hardest people to show things to, I've found, because you seem to care much more about what they think.
Hmm...I'm not sure if there's anything else I can say about myself! I'm not too sure what I'd like to do in the future (when I'm all grown up), I still want to be an author, but the (let's face it, very small) adult in me is telling me to be realistic. I'm hoping to do English Language and Linguistics next year at university, which perhaps leave me with some choices. I keep on swinging from journalism to teaching English in secondary school to teaching English as a foreign language. I guess I have lots of time to figure it out!
Well, for someone who doesn't like talking about herself, this has turned into a mini essay, so I'm going to leave it here. Overall, I just have a boring, ordinary life, and writing makes it that little bit more interesting!

"Shared Blood"

Angela's story

I have to say, I'm an honest kind of girl. Not like her. I like to be upfront about my past, I don't lull people into a false sense of security, pretending everything is OK when it isn't. Normally, they aren't too disgusted, they don't announce that they never want to see me again, or anything like that. They're more intrigued than anything. Their first question is always "What was it like, having her for a mother?" And I simply say, "Just like having anyone else, I guess."
Of course, it might have been different, had I known the truth from the start. P...
