About me

As many others on this website, I am a writing enthusiast and enjoy sharing my ideas, opinions, and thoughts. However, from what I have seen so far, I am younger than most. After turning 18 in the upcoming August, I will be enrolling as a freshman at Indiana University Bloomington as biology major with possibly a second major in history. Though I lack the incredible real life experiences of many Helium authors, I do believe that I offer a unique perspective in many of my writings. I spent the first seven years of my life in Bangladesh, where I was born, and have spent all my time since in Bloomington, Indiana. In the process, I have grown to become quite multicultural, and, because of my liberal and intellectual upbringing, consider my viewpoints unique for their blend of individual conservatism and social liberalism.

At Helium, most of my writings enter through the writing contests area. This is not because I only wish to write when there is a possible monetary reward. In fact, I'm certain I would make more money if I spent my time working some undesirable job instead of sitting down and typing away. The writing contests require my works to be structured in that I have to write to suit public taste as well as my personal liking. I find this to be a fun and appealing challenge. Furthermore, because I am a typical teenage procrastinator, I need to have deadlines to keep me on track. However, I also hope to upload several personal essays describing simple experiences that have had significant effects in terms of shaping my idealisms.

Amidst their seemingly polar opposite stances on everything, one of t...
