I think the NHL should look at some sort of semi-permanent ban on players who hit with intent to injure, at least preventing them from returning to the ice until they have successfully completed some combination of physical modification of their style of play and psychological counseling. I am a Flyers fan, and everybody who follows hockey knows what they've been through this season with suspensions. A case in point for a lengthy ban is Steve Downie, who lived down to his reputation early in the season, getting 20- plus game suspensions in both the NHL and AHL. This kid has issues, and wou...
