About me - Lance W. Christiansen D.O.

About me

I was reared in Seattle, Washington, attended and graduated from Whitman College, Walla Walla, Washington, AB biology (honors), then entered the US Marines and completed Officer Candidate School in 1963. I completed Naval Flight School in 1965 and flew RF-4B Phantom II phto-recconaissance jet in Vietnam and the USA. I left the USMC and was a realtor for three years then matriculatede at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, and finished pre-medical studies in two years and then attended and graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Chicago, Il. in 1977. I served in the Navy for 5 years as a general medical officer and Flight Surgeon. I left active duty in the Navy in 1982, but finished 23 years in the Naval Service in 1991. After leaving active duty in the Navy I started a private practice of medicne in Sequim, Wa. for a two year period and then moved to Toledo, Washington. I owned cloinics in three small towns: Toledo,Winlock, and Onalaska, Washington for a total period of 21 years. Over the last 5 years I focused on seeing patinets with neurological problems such as low back and buttock pain and neuropathy to the lower extremities and shoulder and neck pain and neurological symptoms into the upper extremities. I determined over a twenty year period that few patients " get better " by having lumbar surgery or cervical surgery and I eventually determined the true cause of the condition and it is an autoimmune disease.
