About me - Cathleene Filmore

About me

My husband and two beautiful children are my daily inspiration for writing.

I completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in May of 2009 and I am now working on a Master's of Science in Leadership.

Four things you will never catch me writing about on Helium are ironing clothes, training a dog, organizing kitchen cabinets, or getting any child under the age of seven to go to bed before midnight.

Thanks to Helium, I wrote my first short children's mystery. I also love to write children's stories, especially stories for my five-year-old. It helps her manage her five-year-old feelings. I enjoy writing in essay style, as well as research writing. It is my goal to work up to writing short fiction stories soon and then draft my first novel.

I sold my first two articles to a publisher in marketplace at the end of May 2008. This was very exciting and inspirational.

I am a Christian, and while I do not always write directly about my faith, I have found that most of my words are both influenced and filtered by the principles taught in the Bible.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

rooted in my relationship with Jesus and my family.

I know too much about ...

seemingly meaningless facts.

My parents always told me ...

not to overload the washer and you can repair anything with duct tape.

My childhood ambition ...

was to be left alone, i was a very shy child in an outgoing family

My favorite memory ...

is any memory of my grandparents is my favorite.

Why I write ...

I can't seem to stop. It is as if someone is actually listening to me.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

my little boy yelling at his sister, now his sister is yelling at me, now he is crying.

My first job ...

was boring.

My best moment ...

was having my babies.

My inspiration ...

my family and any challenging situation I may be facing.
