Whenever, in the past I heard about someone in kidney failure, the images conjured up were those of a poor,pathetic person huddled in a bed or wheelchair, unable to do anything with their life. However, since I have suffered with chronic kidney failure for three years, and am now in total kidney failure, my perception of the illness has changed.
