About me - Megan Bauer

About me

I make my home in Friendswood, TX. Mother of 3, but master of none; I now stay home with my kids after leaving my job just a few weeks ago.

I've always loved to write but have never had the bravado to put it in a public forum. Now, I'm about to be 30 and like the song says 'Wild women do and they don't regret it.' Well, here I am, baby!

Like it or hate it this is therapy for me and I'm loving every second of it.

I'm still in college. Progress in short intervals is still progress. Distance Learning is the path for me now. Going to a traditional college with the 3 little ones quickly became an exercise in futility.

However, I'm plugging along.

That's a little of my story.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

Reading and writing. Not necessarily in that order

I know too much about ...

STD's. Someone can name one and I can name possible symptoms and the medication to treat it. Sad actually. I'd like to thank my high school Child Development teacher for showing me some horrifying pictures that made me go out and learn every single STD by it's scientific name as well as making sure abstinence became my middle name. Folks, the fear factor works!

My parents always told me ...

I could do anything.

My childhood ambition ...

I wanted to be an astronaut. Then my poor vision slowly caught up to me.

My favorite memory ...

Sitting in tree branches all day reading.

Why I write ...

Why not? It's therapy for the soul.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

My ceiling fan.

My first job ...

McDonald's. I've perfected the art of asking someone if they want fries with that.

My best moment ...

I'm still alive so I hope I haven't had it yet.

My inspiration ...

Everything.

I was shopping with a friend of mine at an outdoor marketplace when I noticed a very cool fortune teller shop. “Becky!” I yelled, trying to get her attention away from the table of bedazzled metal she called jewelry. I ventured closer to the store and found myself desperate to go in.  Becky finally drew her eyes away from all the glitter and tottered over to me. I kept on telling her to give the heels a rest but she insisted it was all part of the package. I reminded her hammer toes were never cool and stifled a resigned laugh as she made her way over. “What?” ...
