: About Me

I'm a mother of seven and wife of one. My husband and I just celebrated our twenty fifth wedding anniversary. I still love spending time with him, we make each other laugh, and are kids at heart. Speaking of kids, yes we have seven children and yes we know what causes that...the phone rings. In our case, we brought three children into this world the old fashioned way and four more the non-traditional way, adoption. We closed our licence after doing foster care for ten years. Some people think we are crazy for having as large of a family as we do. Our response, "We never said we were sane to begin with. If you are sane, then your children try to rob you of your of your sanity anyway, so just be crazy. Then there is nothing for them to take." In addition, my husband is a firefighter. It takes a crazy person to run into a burning building while others are running out. As for me, my older sister has always pushed me to write. Now that my children are getting older, I am turning to my dreams and what drives me. We almost lost one of our sons last year in an accident. That change shocked our family to its core. I had always wanted to write a book about our experience as foster parents. My wonderful, brave children gave me permission to write about their experiences in their biological homes. They said that if their past lives could help just one other child survive abuse, it would be worth it. I will also write about my son's accident and how his miracle changed our lives. My family is my biggest support system and with that, my biggest fan base.

wanted to be a therapist and to learn to run like the bionic woman.

My favorite memory ...

I have so many! It was almost a year ago when we faced a dr after waiting 9 and half hours while he performed brain surgery on our son and he told us that he was going to live. That is something I will never forget!

Why I write ...

It is an outlet, I enjoy it and everyone around me says I talk too much so I write to keep from driving them all crazy.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

New movie called Caste (just happens to be about a writer), NCIS, and I like any music that has a beat that will get me up and make me want to dance.

My first job ...

was working at a progressive care center feeding patients part time after school.Mostly elderly patients. I loved visiting with them and listening to the stories of their childhood, when they were in the war, the depression, etc. A world of knowledge you can not find in a book.

My best moment ...

was spending time and taking care of both my parents before they passed.

My inspiration ...

of course, my husband and my family!

Grocery shopping at my home comes around every Monday. I dread Mondays. I have never liked grocery shopping. As a matter of fact, I do not like shopping at all, let alone grocery shopping. To me, it seems like such a waste of time to go to the store, spend all my precious time buying all of this food, pack it in my car, haul it home, unpack it to just turn around again in a weeks time and do it all over again.
