After raising three children, working in the human services field for 18 years and driving long-haul trucking for 16 years, I'm currently disabled (temporarily, I'm convinced) and ready embark on new adventures. I've always had a need to see what's over the next hill. I'm not totally new to the writing field as I used to write grant proposals in a previous life. Article-writing brand new, but my emails and letters have been famous among my friends and acquaintances for a couple of dozen years. Since I possess a wealth of useless knowledge-I collect information like some people collect stamps-I can always find something to write about, even if it's simply stating one of my strongly-held opinions. And I have plenty of those.
I firmly believe we 'boomers' will live forever. . .and my favorite quote, author unknown but widely attributed to Erma Bombeck:
Life is not a journey to the grave
With the intention of
Arriving safely in a pretty
And well preserved body,
But rather to skid in broadside,
Thoroughly used up,
Totally worn out,
And loudly proclaiming,
WOW ! What a ride!
My passion is ...
Whatever catches my attention-it changes daily
I know too much about ...
Corporate America & human nature
My parents always told me ...
Do your best
My childhood ambition ...
I wanted to be a journalist
My favorite memory ...
There are too many to pick just one
Why I write ...
. . .because people get tired of listening to me talk
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I read nearly anything-listen to conspiracy talk radio
My first job ...
Washing windows for the neighborhood widows at twelve
My best moment ...
Backing into a difficult dock after watching many men fail at it
My inspiration ...
Anybody who has done what I set out to do before me-I figure if they can do it, I can too!
