About me - Irene Adamiak

About me

I live in Chicago and I am the only girl of 4 siblings. I have always been like one of the boys. I consider my self a bit of a dare devil, I will try anything at least once.

I have two beautiful lab mixes. One is black and one is white, they are sisters. They are the best dogs anyone could ask for! Those are my babies! My fiancee and I have recently adopted two male and one female cat. What a riot those three are!

This year is a bittersweet year. I am turning 30, the bitter part, and I am getting married as well. Definitely the sweet part! I am looking forward to my life together with my fiancee. He is the man of my dreams.

I have been writing since I was 18. I recently had a poem published in a children's health magazine. Achieving that small accomplishment has been the best feeling and definitely boosted my confidence as a writer. I enrolled in The Institute of Children's Literature course again to advance my studies. I have since graduated. I still send out stories and poems to various magazines and hope to get published again. Once day I hope to get a children's book published, but so far it has been a great start to my writing career.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

writing and photography

I know too much about ...

what is on TV.

My parents always told me ...

what to do!

My childhood ambition ...

to be a vet and write books.

My favorite memory ...

sky diving

Why I write ...

because it is what I always wanted to do. Plus I always have something swirling around in my mind.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I watch all kinds of tv. Reality tv to drama. I listen to pretty much everything.

My first job ...

was quite an experience. I was whatever they wanted me to be. I did inventory of corvette carburetors in semi trailers, summer and winter! I pulled orders for customers and restocked as well, not to mention being bullied by the many boys that worked with me! It was fun!

My best moment ...

will be the moment I say "I do" to my fiancee.

My inspiration ...

everything around me!

Time Will Change They took you away Shackled and all, Like a rabid animal. I sat and watched, As our enemies smile. My nerves boiled with hate and vile. Four years will pass, With you locked in a cage. Please come out with out any rage. It was an accident. Five to blame, It was you who took the shame. Inside you ponder, Fear, and anticipate, The longing words of "You're free at last." Outside I wonder, Tear, and hope it's not too late, To make up four years from the past. Letters, cards and pictures, Have all been sent, To keep you updated and in the present. You look in awe And uncertaint...
