I'll start with the basics- i'm 27, British, although recently married to an American Major in the US Army and we currently living in the States. We have our first baby on the way and so we're at a very exciting stage of our lives!
I'm not working at the moment, partly as I haven't a work visa yet. I have an immigration lawyer who is working on getting me permanant residency in the US.
I've only lived in America for a few weeks and i'm having to adapt not only to an American way of life but also that institution that is the military. All very new but a challenge! Change has been the theme of my life and this is yet another example of that.
Before I met my husband I was a flight attendant and worked out of Gatwick airport in London. My goodness, I loved that job- travel is a passion of mine and I got to have several trips a month to very unusual destinations such as Sierra Leone and Ghana. In fact I met my husband in the former- he was deployed there for 6 months.
My love of writing has grown over the years-at school I was an avid writer and English was my favourite subject. My English teacher was an inspiration to me and I shall never forget her influence and encouragement. I continued to study Literature at university in London and thrived there. To be frank, life and the necessity of having to earn a living got in the way of my writing after uni but now that I am more settled I'm picking up the pen again- determined and motivated to excel in what I know i'm meant to do.
I would just like to add that many of my articles are written in an artistic form and thus much of what I write is purely creative and fictional. Please don't think it is always biographical!
My passion is ...
My family! After that, and in no particular order, God, spirituality, my homeland, England, history, drunken debates, travelling, TV (i'm afraid), cats, shopping, yoga, walking and writing
I know too much about ...
Nothing to be perfectly honest! You can know a great deal about a subject but i'm a firm believer that the more intelligent person has more questions than answers.
My parents always told me ...
How to properly hold my knife and fork! They're very traditionally English and etiquette is high on their priority list although I place a lot less importance on it!
My childhood ambition ...
To be a successful writer and an Air Hostess. 1 out of 2 thus far fulfilled!
My favorite memory ...
My childhood was a magical time. I remember the anticipation of christmas was simply overwhelming. I just wish, in adulthood, I could learn to recapture that tangible essence of sheer excitment
Why I write ...
It helps me to clarify my feelings and passions. I write to get it off my mind so its almost a theraputic act. I also enjoy reading back, years later, my work and noting how my situation has perhaps altered. Writing is such a profound window into the soul.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I'm very much into spirituality and am currently reading the New Revelations by the legend that is Neale Donald Walsch and also Richard Websters Praying with Angels.
My first job ...
Paper girl when I was 14 years old. I earned $16 a week and mum used to help with the round too but kindly let me keep the money!
My best moment ...
Marrying my husband in front of all our loved-ones in an idyllic English country church
My inspiration ...
My family- I want to make them proud.

"Katie!" Tim shouted into the barn as he hurriedly entered. He slammed the door
shut behind him.
"Alex? Are you two in here? There's a nasty thunderstorm overhead, we'd
best stay put in here till it passes."
Alex emerged from behind a haystack, straw strewn over his floppy blonde hair.
He and his elder sister, Katie, were playing hide and seek.
Thunderstorms and tornadoes were not uncommon in Springtime Kansas.
Katie heard the ferocity of the storm overhead. The wind howled loudly and the rain was
pelting down hard on the barn roof...
