After earning a Bachelor's Degree in music from Colorado State University, I moved to California to work as a music therapist.
While working on a research project involving music, memory, and grief resolution with the elderly, I was reminded how vital it is for each of us to tell our stories. Shortly thereafter, I enrolled in the creative writing program at California State University and received an MA in English.
When I'm not writing, my life revolves around my other love: my family - my husband Andrew and our two incredible children.

Carolyn had spent several hours in the bathroom during the past few weeks. At first, she blamed it on the pack of sun-sweetened prunes she had snacked on or the new Korean restaurant she had sampled during her lunch break. At forty, she was sure that she was much too young to have begun the change, but she became certain that something was wrong when her symptoms started to worsen. It really wouldn't have been so bad, except she was running out of things to read while sitting on the toilet.
