I have lived in 22 different places and raised three sons. My professional life was pieced together, depending on what country I was in and at what stage of life the boys were. I worked in Europe for almost a decade of my early adult life while learning the small differences between farm life in Minnesota and performing in Vienna.
As a classical musician, I was propelled into teaching at one of Europe's most prestigious conservatories while still quite dazed. Later I got a seminary degree and founded a non-profit. I still prefer the arts for accurately contextualizing reality. (Words are hardly ever the best medium for communicating. Perfecting a method of questioning has been the key to some really great gigs though.)
I've polemicized on many subjects, published in the IONS Review, Bapera, a South American journal of health, occasionally paid by the Target Corporation or "Prairie Home Companion". Management manuals and post-graduate medical texts have quoted questions developed for work and my prerequisite autobiographical novel is almost ready for the trash.
