About me - Stephen Alexander

About me

I am a cerebral-vascular stroke survivor. I enjoyed writing before this untimely accident but enjoy it even more now that I can no longer verbally communicate effectively. After my episode, which was nearly two years ago, I collected state disability insurance for the 8 months alloted to me.

After that was exhausted, I went through my meager savings and lived on hand-outs from my brothers until finally leaving CA (after a bout of homelessness) and moving in with my sister until such time as the federal government deems my disability claim worthy.

For now, I write to retain my sanity as much as any other reason. Writing allows me to achieve some semblance of intelligent communication, which is now beyond my limited vocalization abilities.

Writing can be a bit of a chore as I am left with left-side weakness as well as my speech impairment and I must hunt and peck one-handed in order to type missives such as this.

I hope to contribute as much as possible and would appreciate any ratings of my meager offerings you may be able to provide. I'm unsure how this rating system works but I whave watched my ranking fluctuate but have yet to see any ratings appear. Again, I am not quite sure how this whole rating system works but I hope to get the hang of it.

Over the course of the next few years, Alex would leave San Francisco, relocate to Virginia and move in with his older sister. Subsequently, after a pr...
