I'm on a constant hunt for knowledge, whether it be to learn a new writing technique, try a fun new recipe or discover a random fun fact I never knew. I graduated Valdosta State University in August of 2009 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and will be on my way to South Korea to teach ESL for a year in the coming weeks. I was a writer for my college newspaper and held a summer internship with the alumni magazine on campus. I also enjoy design and have held the position of travel editor and designer for the student-run magazine at my university as well as designed the first newsletter for the college of arts and sciences. Even though I'm taking a small step away from journalism by teaching for a year, I plan on writing as much as I can while I'm there and allowing all my experiences to contribute to my work. I plan on coming back after my experience overseas and pursing a career in magazine journalism. I've realized life doesn't have to be hard. Live one day at a time and love it. Don't expect too much, but believe everything is possible.
Love, respect, empathy these are things that have always been a part of our family. It was the distance between us that brought appreciation and gratitude into the picture, bringing with them a sense of closeness and the need to constantly remain in touch.
