Welcome to the world of the geisha. It's a secretive and competitive world full of rules and traditions. A geisha is a Japanese, female entertainer who entertains using the Japanese arts of classical dance and music. Young girls would be either sold or sent to an okiya (a geisha house) where they would immediately begin their training. The woman who ran the okiya was called the mother' of the house.
