My professional background began in Rome in October 1996 where I contributed an article for the Avvenimenti magazine. Although I had written it in Italian I really had my heart set on writing in my own language; so
when I took off to Yemen, late in 1997 I had that opportunity to do freelance for their only English language regular newspaper. Coming home a year later meant a
continued search for other freelance markets, and my registering with PWAC.The Quebec Drama Federation allowed me to contribute 2 articles for their
quarterly issue. Since I am also a professional teacher, artist and actor in Europe as well as Canada I have kept up these interests by performing on stage, in films and in doing my own art. The writing ties into that as I often write about those art sectors by reviewing plays, doing art reviews or writing 'how to' articles in blogs and local newspapers.
I wonder how someone would actually expect to have their work taken seriously by writing out passages with spelling mistakes. Errors will not only detract from the main sense of the sentence but when combined with poor syntax and lousy sentence structure, they will contribute to a piece that will quickly fall from grace If one is an educator and wanting to encourage children to read than proper spelling is a definite asset otherwise readership can quickly fall.
