I am a product of Chicago Public Schools. I entered the military immediately after completion of high school and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, the U.S. Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, and the U.S. Army Reserve. I retired from the military with 41 years of service. Educationally, I earned a B.A. in Business from Ohio State University, M.A. degrees in Counseling and Interpersonal Communication from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. in Education from Southern Illinois University. Currently, I teach in the area of Academic Studies for New Mexico State University-Grants. At present, I teach high school seniors who are enrolled in college classes while they complete high school. Vocationally, I retired from Federal Civil Service as a former Supervisory Equal Opportunity Specialist with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. I had previously been a Supervisor of Complaint Investigators for the U. S. Department of Transportation, and an Affirmative Action Officer for the Illinois State Board of Education. After retirement I was an eductional consultant for the State of Illinois and the Chicago Board of Education until I moved to New Mexico.

As an unlikely college professor, I have come to realize that my passion has been a part of me for most of my life. My first experience at teaching came about when I was a young enlistee in the reserve forces. I had completed 4 years in the Air Force and enlisted in the Air Force Reserve to earn points toward retirement. I enlisted in a medical unit which was part of the Alaskan Air Command.
