Tammy 1977-1997 Tammy was "just a mutt" that my Mother and stepfather rescued from the animal shelter when she was six months old, just before Christmas, 1977. Her original owners had abused her and the rescue came none too soon. What a wonderful Christmas present it was for all concerned! Tammy survived my stepfather's death in 1981, to become Mother's inseparable companion until Mother's death in 1995. At that time Mother lived with me, thus Tammy became "my" dog upon Mother's death.
