About me - Nathaniel Whitley

aboutme

Nihao ma. Those who know me call me Panzer, which is short for PanzerWolfe. This is a play on my Chinese star sign (a Water Dog for any who are interested) and of my lifelong love for wolves. Both animals possess an affinity to the Metal aspect of the five Taoist Elements. Thus "Panzer," which means "Armor."

I have practiced as a writer for many years, though it is only recently that I have seen my skill evolve to a level I am comfortanble with. My first arts, of course, were of the pencil and the paint brush, which only later lead into my love of the writen word. Or, rather, it is the story that I love. My gift, the reason I have honed my ability with words, is that I have an inate talent with plots. I create stories in my head every day, more than I'll ever be able to publish, but I marvel in how seemingly random things can be tied together. Better, I see how they are already tied together and that is where the marvel resides.

As for everything else, I love the orient, China and Japan for the most part. Their cultures, philosophies, and religions are my inspiration. I'm known for my humor, which can be a blessing or a broadsword, depending on which side of it you stand. I am also a movie buff, another result of my love of a decent plot. Personally, I guess one could say I fall somewhere between Buddha and Dr. House. I'm rude, vulger, blasphemous, and opinionated, but I am also, insightful, understanding, and compassionate. Oddly, some of my best friends were found at the other end of a fight. Just a reminder that, if at first you find me frustrating, look again and you'll see someone new.

Our favorite TV character can say a lot about us. They can express what we secretly wish to be, or embody a principle we admire. Perhaps sometimes they're just the ones who make us laugh, or maybe the ones that make us think. My favorites have always been the cynics, those with great intelligence and principle who may sometimes come off as down right evil but more often than not turn that attitude towards a positive end. Perhaps that will be evidenced in this list.

1. Greg House (Hugh Laurie)- Star of the brilliant medical series House, Dr. Greg House is my all time favorite TV character...
