Despite the fact that I'm not even 30 yet, I've spent more more than 10 years working in the trenches of the marketing front, first in the telemarketing front, and then later as both a writer and a PR pro.
My name is Jennifer Gibbs, and I currently operate a full-service writing, marketing and PR firm based out of South Georgia, working with clients from all across the world. For as long as I can remember, I've been... infected with this overwhelming urge to invest my time and attention joining forces with small businesses world-wide to develop cost-effective, efficient and creative writing, marketing and PR campaigns that improve sales and boost branding efforts. To date, my one woman show (www.jennifergibbs.com) has been in business for six years and has personally managed comprehensive campaigns for 70+ clients, ranging from short free reprint articles to full-length, printer-ready manuscripts.
Although the majority of my projects lie within the real estate and health & wellness industries, there are few sectors I haven't had the pleasure of aligning myself with.
All in all, with the emergence of the post-bailout economy, I'm one lucky woman. I get to do what I love, work out of my home office, spend way more time with my family AND make great money doing it. While I may not make all of the money I make here on Helium, it is a lot of fun, and the writers here have built a wonderful community.
Whether you're a regular blogger, a ghostwriter, a web content developer, a screenplay writer or even a creative writing junkie, there's a place for you here.

Carving out your own particular writing niche isn't something you'll be able to accomplish overnight - even if you already have a general idea of what subject area is your forte. When I decided to strike out as a full-time freelance writer (a.k.a. I quit my day-job), I'd spent the last seven years working in direct marketing, with telemarketing as my specialty. I (along with a lot of other people) assumed that this would be where I premiered my expertise, in the be-all and end-all guide book on finding success as a telemarketer.
