I am a wife and mother of two children, ages 2 and 4. I have been writing for 15 years. I enjoy reading, gardening, hiking, fishing, music, and I collect antique books. I love writing-it helps to express and make sense of the world for me. I have recently completed my first novel-now begins the hurry-up-and-wait process that (hopefully) leads to publication.

I have a discreet tattoo inside my right ankle of a Chinese character that means happiness. When I was 22 years old and making this major life decision, I decided that I liked what it said next to the meaning: "Happiness comes when your soul's needs are met by an untroubled inner life. Happiness comes when your words and work are of benefit to yourself and others." Of course this was a great reminder at the time-what 22 year old doesn't have a hectic life and need such a reminder?
