: About Me

Daryl Dudley was born and raised in Georgia. He inherited his writing talent and love of the art from his mother (a social worker / Sunday School teacher). From his father (a truck driver) Daryl inherited a strong interest in math and business.

During free time, Daryl plays basketball and chess, bowls occasionally, attends church, and reads regularly. He enjoys dining, web surfing, music and cinema.

A few of Daryl's interests include: teaching, religion, public speaking, fashion, stock investing, marketing strategy and banking.

Some of his writing experience includes: playwriting, poetry, short stories, speech writing, and editing.

He majors in English (Language / Literature) at Savannah State University, located in Savannah, Georgia. He also minors in Business (Marketing).

Daryl loves writing. He has written, co-directed, and co-produced 2 plays that were performed at his church (First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church). He has composed several lesson reviews for the Sunday School. One of his poems "Heaven" has been published by the International Library of Poetry. Daryl also writes film reviews, articles, and social commentaries for ezines and other publications.

My childhood ambition ...

(laughs) was to be an NBA player!

My favorite memory ...

was when I was seasick on a cruise. I couldn't make it to the cafe or restaurant. When I woke up, my best friend was gone, but he had brought me two full trays of fruits and juice drinks.

Why I write ...

because I love writing. Mine comes from the soul. I cherish the joy I get when people love my work...that means we've connected.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I'm reading Site Build It's! web building tutorials, watching HBO's True Blood, and listening to satellite channel's "The Heart."

My first job ...

I was a McDonald's grill worker.

My best moment ...

was when my cast and I received a standing ovation for my Christmas play.

My inspiration ...

is J.K. Rowling. She's an amazing storyteller, and has had a rough past. I know that if she can live her dream as a writer, so can I.
