I have a Master's degree in Linguistics from Stanford University and a Bachelor's in English Language. I have additional work in Developmental Psychology, specializing in language acquisition. I thought that I would go on to get a Ph.D. but I have discovered that my interests are too broad to narrow it down that much. I love writing and reading and thinking about too many things.
I have also taken a career and education break to raise my four children including twins, and so have turned to writing as an informal outlet of my ideas.
Writing is my art, and words are definitely my medium. I particularly enjoy forming them like a sculptor's clay into things that people have never heard before. If you peruse some of my titles, you will find that one of my goals rather than just to communicate information or ideas is also to say things in a rather shocking or jolting way.
'I have never heard that before' is something I get a lot from people who read my things or talk to me. So if you are curious what a phrase like 'accosted by anonymous music lovers wielding knives' could refer to, read my article on the history of the male soprano. Or any number of unusual pieces. A few of them are hidden amongst others that attempt to simply be informative or insightful, so it might take some fishing. Feel free to mail me any comments about how my goals are shaping up. Thanks for visiting!

Whether Newt Gingrich's serial marriages and extramarital affairs are relevant to his campaign, vary by the perspective taken. Of course now he lumps these questions into "negative campaigning" even though they come from his former wife and not his paramours or even as leaked by the press. But more interesting is the stance he took in the 1997 impeachment measures of Bill Clinton after the press leaked the story of his short but lurid affair with Monica Lewinsky. And it is actually how his affairs compare, or don't compare, with Bill Clinton's, could answer the question more deci...
