Suffice it to say that I have been a writer all my life, having worked in newspapers, as a tech writer, and in marketing and communications. I've never done fiction because I just don't seem to have the ideas. I don't understand where fiction writers come up with their stuff.
Consequently, I'm the guy who was happy when, in school, a term paper was assigned. I can do non-fiction. I've never loved any job the way I loved the newspaper business because I got paid to go out and learn as much as I possibly could about something new every single day. It's too bad newspapers pay such lousy salaries. Most of us give it up out of necessity, not because we don't love our work.
Now my writing tends to be focused on whatever job I'm working and on my website and my two blogs. It's interesting to get involved with Helium because it is a different outlet for my creativity, although time constraints have prevented me from writing as much here as I would like. I'll have to see what I can do about that.
Motorcycling has essentially two dangers: 1) the rider, and 2) every other vehicle on the road. As motorcyclists, we can control one of these; the other we have to try to nullify.
