I am a teacher at heart. I love it. I was actually going to become a math teacher, but realized that it wasn't where my heart was. To be honest, I loved teaching math, but did not care for the mess the school system has seemed to become these days. I could go on about that, but I will say that I admire most teachers today. At least the ones who really try. They have their work cut out for them, and are stronger more patient people than I profess to be.
I preached for 6 years. The first 4 were part-time, but I spent 1.5 - 2 years as a full-time minister. Soon it became apparent to me that the same politics I wanted to avoid in the school system were present in the church community as well. I continue to attend services, although I had fallen away for a while, but I found it more of an outreach to talk to people as a friend, rather than teach from a pulpit.
My passion is ...
doing what I can to help.
I know too much about ...
heartache
My parents always told me ...
go the extra mile. Do more than is expected.
My childhood ambition ...
really was just to make a difference, to be influential.
Why I write ...
I can't not write. It's a need and it doesn't go away.
My best moment ...
has yet to come.
