I wanted to play basketball when I was in junior high. I was too short, and not very good at it. My Dad helped me practice almost every day for three months and he told me to "never give up." I didn't make the girl's team, but I do remember the lesson Dad taught me twenty some years ago.
After I figured out that basketball wasn't my thing, I decided to try creative writing. I enrolled in a creative writing class offered at my junior high. I finally found my niche and I've loved writing (both fiction and nonfiction) since then.
I've worked in many fields, including sales and business. Currently, I help my husband run our home business. Mostly, I play with my four year old son and I write.
My main writing emphasis is children. My projects include several children's short stories written for magazines for ages 8-12, a finished young adult novel, and another novel for women that I am co-writing with my sister (who is also a children's writer). My main motivation for writing is to help the children who read my work discover their purpose in this life by using their special and unique talents to help others.
My professional goals include the publication of my novels and short stories. I would also like to speak to groups of children in schools and churches about current issues in their lives.

I asked, "Ok, so you think it starts with the good life and boatloads of cash handouts from the government. May I ask why you think everyone isn't doing it then?" He responded by saying that I was just trying to stomp on his dreams. I wasn't really. But I was concerned for his financ...
