About me

It's hard to sum up all of my craziness in a few paragraphs, but here's an attempt:

I'm 23 years old, born and raised in Colorful Colorado. I married the man that would have been my highschool sweet-heart, had we not hated each other during our teenage years. We seem to have gotten over that. He has been my inspiration, my debate partner, my travelling companion, and so much more in the 3 years we have been married. He also didn't judge me too harshly for having dropped out of highschool in my junior year, and was very kind and patient during the hours spent coaching me on my attrocious mathematical abilities in order for me to (finally!) recieve my GED last winter.

I feel very strongly about 10 things in life: God, my husband, my family, my friends, flip flops, chocolate, ice cream, toilet paper, chapstick, and blankets. If any of those things get messed with, my claws come out. I'm like a female version of Wolverine. Only a lot less hairy.

On the bright side, I'm a generally happy person, easily distracted by anything that shines, glitters, sparkles, or squeaks. Like rubber duckies. Or broken glass. Or snow. Or tin foil. I read far too much romance, I can't go a day without walking into something, I chew on my lip when I think too hard, I'm more afraid of bees than I am anything else, and some of my best friends are cookies. As if that isn't strange enough, I like the smell of gasoline, burning matches, wood smoke, and skunks.

I argue with myself and rarely win, and my left leg is about a quarter inch longer than my right. I can wiggle my ears, flare my nostrils, twist my tongue, and juggle; but I can't change a tire or oil, I can barely cook, and driving is my own personal hell. Practicality and logic are lost on me. I sing songs about flying purple space monkees. And I'm aware that 'monkees' is not spelled with two E's. Make of that what you will.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

life, and all the adventures that come with it.

I know too much about ...

pointless pain and suffering.

My parents always told me ...

to stop being ridiculous, and "Pay attention!"

My childhood ambition ...

was to be as ridiculous as possible.

My favorite memory ...

is the day my niece was born. She's so amazing!

Why I write ...

because I talk too quietly.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I'm reading Gone With the Wind and Pride and Prejudice for about the hundredth time each.

My first job ...

involved cleaning bathrooms and caring for elderly folk, among many other things I'd rather not remember.

My best moment ...

was coming to terms with my past.

My inspiration ...

is my muse, who is currently on strike.

Allie Patterson was counting in her mind all of the numerous things she would rather be doing right at that moment. One, cleaning the toilet. Two, folding the laundry. Three, eating liver. What she did not want to be doing was precisely what she was doing, which was exactly nothing. In the middle of nowhere. Alone. Her husband, Evan, had been gone for over half an hour. He had pulled their battered old Chevy pickup to the side of the dirt road, and started walking. There was a house a few miles back, and he was going to see if anyone was home. The truck was deader than a doornail. Which me...
