"Sunday Morning" I'm awakened by the smell of bacon, sizzling and crackling in a frying pan with the small yet powerful sound of a women's cracked voice, filled with joy, singing her favorite church hymn. I slid out of bed like a snake slithering through grass And take a peak in the slightly smoky kitchen. I see her standing in front of the stove in a torn cotton gown that kept her cool in the heat, with her gray hair still in rollers under a scarf. She sees me and gives me the warmest smile.
