Two Lessons From Iowa
To my mind there are two big stories out of Iowa. Well to be fair, one story and one nagging question. The main story of these caucuses is turnout. The Democrats nearly doubled the Republican turnout in a state that can best be described as purple. Iowa is not a democratic stronghold by any means, indeed it has more independents than Democrats or Republicans. The fact that over 230,000 attended the democratic caucuses bodes well for the Democrats in November, regardless of the nominee.
