I have been a writer for most of my life, mostly short stories and poetry as a youth. A few years ago, a friend and I started SCROOMtimes, an online moagazine. I was a main contributor to that for over 5 years until we finally closed it down. Most recently, I have written for my own blog, as well as various freelance assignments.

Two Lessons From Iowa

To my mind there are two big stories out of Iowa. Well to be fair, one story and one nagging question. The main story of these caucuses is turnout. The Democrats nearly doubled the Republican turnout in a state that can best be described as purple. Iowa is not a democratic stronghold by any means, indeed it has more independents than Democrats or Republicans. The fact that over 230,000 attended the democratic caucuses bodes well for the Democrats in November, regardless of the nominee.
