It varies. Sometimes it's something obvious like a story about a parapalegic finishing a marathon, but other times inspiration comes in a satisfying bowl of cereal.
I recently signed up to volunteer at Hospice. Since the training began a couple weeks ago, I've being thinking a lot about death, my own in particular.
We were given an assignment to write about how we'd want to spend our last few days. Who would be there? Where would I be? What smells and sounds would surround me? Why have I never thought about this before? Kristen and I have spent hundreds of hours on road trips discussing hopes, dreams, fears and bodily functions, yet we've never discussed our death. Fret not, it's now on the agenda for our next trip.
