I am a Marketing Communications Specialist and the unofficial graphic designer for the company I work for, but since selling my first article through Helium's Marketplace last year, I've added freelance writer to my repertoire. I particularly love researching and writing health and lifestyle related articles, and recently sold my first article to a print/online magazine that focuses on these topics.

Why I write ...
I love being able to educate readers about a person or interest they wanted to know more about. I particularly love writing about people from the pop culture past, because I believe in preserving their legacy.

I'm reading a book called "The Help" which is about what life was like for African American maids and cooks in the 1960s south. It's so well written and eye opening, it's worthy of being made into a film.
