My husband and I live in the southeastern United States. I am 32 years old, and I work for the state in the Department of Family & Children Services as a Medicaid Eligibility Specialist.
I love to read and write. Although I do not write poetry very often anymore, it was my first love. At a young age, I was writing poetry. On occasion I enjoy digging through my hope chest and pulling out my earliest attempts at writing. Those attempts are quite humorous and sweetly naive.
I have had articles published in the local newspaper, and I have had a few articles published in Christian magazines. I am currently working on a children's manuscript and a Christian fiction story.

The gifts had been opened. A mountain of torn wrapping paper, ribbons, and bows towered in one corner of the living room. My parents, my sister, and I sat around the room admiring each other's gifts. We expressed gratitude. We modeled. We laughed hysterically. Like every other year, we had opened our presents on Christmas Eve night.
