I have been writing for as long as I can remember; mainly travel articles and personal memoirs so I have always been an avid diarist. I also write poetry and articles on a wide range of topics. I have two novels in progress which still need serious revision but I'm working on it! The novels are called 'Prayer to Aphrodite' and 'The Snows of the Innocent.'. Excerpts can be found on the Helium site.
I attend two writers' circles and belong to a theatre group where some of my poetry and scripts have been performed in front of a live audience. This has helped immensely with my development as a writer and I would thoroughly recommend that writers gain some experience of acting to assist the budding novelist with characterization, plot and dialogue.
I find writing therapeutic and it helps me deal with situations which I would otherwise find too distressing.
After joining Helium three years ago I was invited to become a sub-steward with Helium's travel channel and have now become a channel manager for Spain - link to this channel as in the MY LINKS section to the right.
I have travelled widely mainly to Spain and most Mediterranean countries and consider myself to be familiar enough with these places to write about them with a voice of authority.
I also write articles on real estate as I have sound experience in that particular field. The topics of travel and real estate can both be interlinked so I enjoy visiting a new region and writing about the types of property available as well as discovering interesting facts about the culture, history and geography of the place.
As of April 2011 I've now started a travel blog and a poetry blog and these can be found at::

Christmas Shopping in Arctic Britain Last week in Yorkshire, It began to snow in honour of my birthday and now nearly a week later the inclement weather still hasn’t showed any signs of abating. Wintry snowstorms this bad before Christmas are practically unheard of in the UK and they will likely make a definite impact on the December drudgery of Christmas shopping. ‘Hmm... snow use doing the Xmas shopping just yet - snow buses,’ I joke as my teenage son avalanches in through the back door looking like the abominable snowman. His school is closed due to the adverse conditi...
