Hi! I'm glad you dropped by. I'm Helium's early childhood and special education steward and it's been a blessing for me to be a member of a place where knowledge rules.
As a mother of three grown children and a special education teacher for twenty-five years, I consider myself an ordinary American citizen with an empty nest who believes mid-life is the best. Born and raised in the Lone Star State, I can honestly say that those of us born and raised in Texas are survivors. We have to be, because our weather is extreme. Going through a huge Texas tornado or two might be why I've survived even more severe storms in my life.
My experience with teaching special education led me to a greater ability to write articles on the topic of child development and the joy of teaching children with disabilities. Then again, when after twenty five years of working with the disabled, I find myself disabled as well, it gave me even more stories to tell. As a legally blind mother of three, cancer survivor, living on a disability income, I've found abundance and a new and improved vision of life. That's why I also like to write articles about how to move beyond simply surviving to a new and improved destiny.
I can see, so I'm only blind, legally. That makes me able to write and rate all day, and now that I finally have the time and motivation it takes to write and read through the insight of a mother of three, retired teacher on a disability income, while blind as a bat and having a hot flash, I finally see where my destiny was meant to lead. Today, I'm happy to say that I look through an attitude of gratitude for the fact that hard times can become blessings in disguise. That's why I'll conclude by telling you how grateful I am to be a member of Helium, where Knowledge rules and where I can read what I need and write what I know. So, thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll drop me a line sometime.

People like you.
It took time for me to see and believe that God gave me the power to change my destiny. He gave that same power to you too, but I was clueless to the fact that every demise in my life was created by me, myself and I. The good news is that God gave you and I yet another gift in life. Because of this gift, we have the power to change every demise into a blessing in disguise.
LESSONS WITH DESTINY AND TIPS FOR CHANGING IT:
1. Pay attention to unintentional intentions.
I used to believe that destiny led me, instead of the other way around. I was unaware the power was ther...
