At 68 I have recently retired as editor of The SA GOLFER, the organ of The South Australian Golf Association.
Prior to that I taught economics and accounting.
Eventually I became so disillusioned with economics I created The Society of Lapsed Economists. The society has always spoken with one voice.
It surprises friends when I tell them that I admire the discipline of accounting and rank the double entry bookkeeping system as equal to the rules of chess for intellectual beauty!

I spent Easter on King Island, off the north west coats of Tasmania. It was at the invitation of a life long friend who was bringing a highly successful career in shipping to an end and had chosen King Island as the spot to spend much of his retirement time.
