: About Me

Hello,

My name is Ron Busby. I am married for 26 years and have 3 children all in High School now. I started writing at an early age my first venture was writing songs. I have been a professional musician since I was 12. I had to learn to write songs because I could not read music, making it hard to learn other people's music.

I decided to write a novel back in the mid 90's. It took me 5 years to finish but finish I did. I have not found a publisher as of yet for that novel. My oldest son Cameron started writing poetry at the age of 9 and he has been published several times. To encourage him in his pursuit we joined the Sabine Area Writers Guild when he was around 12.

At the age of 39 I had my first heart attack, so far I have five and I pray that I am done having them now. Unfortunately I became disabled because of my cronic heart troubles. So I really have not worked much since 1999. Luckily I am on Social Security so we can barely pay our bills.

But the good Lord keeps waking me up every morning so I must have unfinished business here on earth. To me writing has been great way for me to remain creative which is to me a gift I was blessed with. Telling stories or reporting on different subjects is right up my alley. I also enjoy a good debate from time to time.

Before my heart attacks I owned a Stock Brokerage Firm and specalized in Rare Coins and precious metals for over 25 years. I simply do not have the strength any longer to hold down a regular job. But my hours are a bit strange because I have to rest frequently. So I could be up all night, or all day. Being able to express myself on this web site, and make a little money as well, is what I have been looking for a long time. The problem I find with other sites is they want you to pay them to work for them. Here at Helium you solved that problem and I believe that in the long run we will have quality writers that really love to write.

Without a doubt we have seen Heath grow as an actor. From his first film, "Ten Things I Hate About You," it was apparent that he was somewhat typecast in that role. It was as if they wanted Heath to be another teen heart throb. Little did they know, or even expect, that he really had some acting chops. With every role he played he seemed to peel back another layer that proved he was much more than they had originally thought. The Patriot was a breakout role for Heath as it showed depth far greater than anyone expected. Of course it didn't hurt that his co-star was another Aussie Mel Gibson...
