About me - Tim O'Connor

About me

Tim O'Connor is a writer, teacher, and builder. His writing efforts are a natural outcome of years of education and experience in the humanities, educational technology, and sustainable living projects. He holds a BA in English, an MEd. in Reading and Language Arts, and training credits in network administration, financial planning, and architectural drafting.

Tim works as a technology integration specialist for a local public school and as a graduate adjunct instructor of Computers for Managers and Effective Business Writing. He has taught Introduction to Ethics, Philosophy, Peace and Conflict in the 21st. Century, English Composition, and Basic College Mathematics at the community college level.

Tim's work in education, technology, and green building has led him to pursue certification as a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional).

Current writing projects include articles on green building, green jobs, natural capitalism, local economy, and biomimicry. His work has led him full circle from the Northeast to Colorado, California, Montana, and finally back to New England. Along the way, he has designed and built passive solar homes, lived in tipis, yurts, and the occasional VW van.

Tim is currently safely installed in Vermont where he lives with his loving wife and a relatively annoying dog. He has three beautiful children and one very beautiful grandson. When not writing, teaching, or building, he enjoys kayaking, snowshoeing, doing tai chi, playing in the garden, and banging on hand drums without mercy.
