I was born in West Virginia, USA. My father was military so I was raised all over, mainly in Hanau, Germany. I have a 17 year old son that is growing into quite the exceptional young man. I ran off to Australia last year to marry the man of my dreams and live life the way I always envisioned it to be.
I graduated from Hanau American High School in Hanau, Germany. Went to college for photography and writing, then had my son. Went back to college for a paralegal degree and worked in law firms for 5 years. Decided that wasn't the life I wanted. Bought a farm and lived on it for 10 years. We raised goats and chickens, was a wonderful life. But I still had that traveling bug. When my son became of age I sold it all up to move to Australia.
I started chasing my dreams. I married my soul-mate, and having the time of my life. With his encouragement, I enrolled in the Australian College of Journalism and started studying Freelance Travel Journalism and Photography. We are traveling all over Australia learning all we can about it, and me writing along the way. Nothing can stop me now.
I ran the Hinzman Cousins Newsletter for two years writing history articles for a full body of helping to search in areas for family information, bios, kept 45 people worldwide provided with what each was doing for the research, gathered old photos, etc.
I wrote history and genealogical articles for Jackson County History Society, Jackson County Herald newspaper, and published a book on Evans Cemetary history.
Currently I write a travel blog about the Sydney area for a website; researching Australian coffee history, plantations, cafe scenes, The Rocks Aroma Festival, and Australian roasters for articles; researching the Blue Mountains area to know every touristy and history part of it; learning and walking all the bushwalks I can in NSW and QLD; and have published an Australian Quilt History article in Jackson Herald newspaper.
Future asperations is to write coffee related articles for different magazines; be the Blue Mountains expert to come to for articles regarding history, its wonderful art and artists and bushwalks; also to write for Nature magazines about bushwalking, national parks of Australia, best camping sites and history; the final word being - I just want to write and make a living doing so.
